Celebrating his partnership with The World’s Largest Hot Dog Chain®, IndyCar Series driver J.R. Hildebrand, the 2011 Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year, is taking over Vacaville’s Wienerschnitzel on Wednesday, Sept. 13, as part of the Wieners and Whips Rally that runs from the Sonoma Raceway to the restaurant.

A benefit for Speedway Children’s Charities, the popular event has Hildebrand in a Chevrolet joining other drivers for the 35-mile rally to Wienerschnitzel in the Vaca Village Shopping Center, where he will serve up the chain’s Chili Dogs, Corn Dogs, Schnitzel Sandwiches, Tastee Freeze desserts and other favorites from 1:30-3:30 p.m.

“J.R. has been part of our WienerFam for a couple of years now,” said J.R. Galardi, Wienerschnitzel executive vice president. “He’s excited this rally allows our fans the chance to drive alongside him on the way to our restaurant and watch him whip-up some of our delicious Chili Dogs for a great cause.”

Hildebrand will cook, work the register, pose for photos and sign autographs during his two-hour takeover. Wienerschnitzel’s famous TDO (The Delicious One) will also be making an appearance.

Wienerschnitzel will donate all money raised during the takeover to the Speedway Children’s Charities, an organization benefiting hundreds of child-based nonprofit groups.

The Vacaville restaurant is located at 149 Peabody Road in the Vaca Village Shopping Center. The phone number is (707) 446-1413.
